within the framework of a scientific tour
made by a group of primary stage girl
students of Emirates National School
on April 2012.
Sheikha Mozah and her colleagues at the beginning of the visit,
listened to an explanation about the company and the nature
of the work in the distribution of water and electricity in Al
Ain, along with its efforts to achieve the maximum rates of the
required quality of drinking water, and the scientific methods
used to conduct chemical tests on water samples.
The girl students were also briefed on the mechanism of action
followed in the laboratory to examine water samples, and
methods and techniques used in the tests to ensure conformity
of water to the specifications and standards
adopted.
The visit program included a student
introductory tour in the sections of the
lab, where the specialized engineers and
technicians provided a detailed explanation
about the chemical and biological laboratory.
The light was shed on how to take water
samples, and how to conduct tests on samples
precisely.
The students had a general idea about
the history, scope and functions of Al Ain
Distribution Company and its efforts to
raise awareness of the importance of water
consumption rationalizing and the means
which it follows to achieve this, including
the distribution of publications explaining
the methods of water and electricity
rationalization, security and safety.
Al Ain Distribution Company completed a
project to develop a laboratory to analyze
drinking water it is responsible for. This project
included updating the laboratory information

management system in a manner which
would contribute to activating the
mechanisms of work monitoring and saving
the information of the analysis results.
The modern technologies that were
introduced into the project contributed
to sending the information and results of
sample analysis to all parties in the specified
time via e-mails along with conducting all
statistics required for use in the follow-up of
water quality at Al Ain.
The analysis laboratory development project
of the company plays a key role in developing
the performance of the laboratory and raising
its efficiency in order to provide all the
requirements and conditions of the quality
management system for the rehabilitation
of the laboratory to the international
accreditation standards
