Al Ain Distribution Company sponsored
the SecondCharityMarathon forChildren
with cancer, which was held under the
auspices of His Highness Sheikh Ziab Bin
Tahnon Al Nahyan at Al Ain city, with
the participation of Tawam and Al Nour
hospitals, and Strata Company.
The marathon, organized by “Rotana Hotel”, the income
of which has been devoted to Children with cancer,
witnessed a large participation of community members
from different ages. Special programs were presented to
the children and their families, including painting on face
, sand drawing and having snacks.
On this occasion, Mr. Mohammed Bin Omair Al Shamsi,

said: Supporting Children with cancer requires the efforts
of all of us to mitigate their pain, and this marathon is
a vivid example of social solidarity to support a noble
target and humanitarian action that affects many lives.
The company’s participation comes within the framework
of social activities provided by the company, and is one
of the most important humanitarian initiatives to serve
the cancer patients category in the society.

participated in the work round at
the Fifth Workshop of Rationalizing
Water And Electricity Consumption,
organized by the Electricity & Water
Rationalization And Customer Services
Committee of the Secretariat General
of the Gulf Cooperation Council at
the Omani capital Muscat in March
2012 under the slogan “Economize for
Sustainability”
The workshop included six worksheets
and a variety of experiences form all
the countries of the Arab Cooperation
Council in the field of electricity and
water rationalization. The number of
participants reached 133 including
concerned officials, experts in the
field of rationalization from ministries,
agencies and companies responsible for
providing water and electricity services
in the GCC.
The workshop adopted a national Gulf
plan that offered the ideal methods
for rationalizing water and electricity
consumption and improving their
uses in our daily life. A design of water
networks and energy saving lamps, and
their role in consumption rationalization
has been presented.
His Highness Mohammed Bin Omair
Al Shamsi, Managing Director of Al
Ain Distribution Company, said: “The
contribution of external companies at
the level of the Gulf and the Arab region
in such periodically held workshops
has a prominent and effective role
in acquiring experience in the field
of consumption rationalization and
customer services.
He added that such meetings help
adopt and take new steps that
contribute to exchanging experiences
and experiments between the GCC
countries, in addition to benefiting
from such accumulated experiences,
and exchange of knowledge in the field
of rationalization.

and its role in distributing water and
electricity in Al Ain city and its suburbs,
besides its strategic plans for business
development and customer services
as well as its interest in consumption
rationalization campaigns. As for
the company’s participation, H.H.
Mohammed Bin Omair Al Shamsi,
General Manager of Al Ain Distribution

important global platformfor presenting
the latest available technologies in
global markets in relation to water,
energy, environment, and other vital

in the field of energy, in addition to
benefiting from seminars and workshop
associated with the exhibition”. Al
Shamsi added: “We achieve many
goals and benefits by participating in
the exhibition. In addition to getting
acquainted with the new technologies
in the field of energy and environment,
it is a good opportunity to meet the
public and answer their questions. We
also use this opportunity to explain the
benefits hoped for through changing
and launching the new form of the
bill. Bin Omair assured that the new
bill is designed in a way that makes
it easy to read, and at the same time
provides each of our clients with more
data and information about his/her
consumption. When our customers get
more information and details about
their consumption and the real cost
of production and supply of what they
consume, will increase their knowledge
and enable them to take smart decisions
based on the information obtained
from the new bill. This is considered
an important step for the Emirate of
Abu Dhabi since it will contribute to
changing the behavior of water and
electricity consumption on the long
run.
