Sharing in“Clean Up UAE”
campaign
AADC volunteers participated in
the thirteenth round of the annual
“Clean Up UAE” campaign, in Al
Matar Street, Al Ain, which was
organized by Al Ain Municipality as
represented by the Central District
and Public Health Department, and
in coordination and cooperation
with the Emirates Environmental
Group (EEG), in December 2014.
AADC participation comes in line
with the EEG objectives and vision
as embodied in participation in
societal initiatives with the purpose
of interacting with society issues
and affairs in a way that brings
about public interest. It also
deepens the concept of joint action
with all public and private agencies
and institutions, with the purpose
of attaining a clean, sustainable
and more healthy environment,
and to preserve public health and
safety towards achievement of
environmental
sustainability.
The campaign witnessed the
participation of a number of
external sectors affiliating with
Al Ain Municipality, besides a
number of schools and government
institutions.
Participating in the Desert
Cleanup Campaign,
in cooperation with EAD
In cooperationwithEnvironment Agency
– Abu Dhabi – (EAD), AADC participated
in the Desert Cleanup Campaign on
the occasion of the Arab Environment
Day, within the sustainable schools
initiatives. The campaign witnessed the
participation of 161 school students
and more than 35 participants from a
number of government institutions and
private companies in Abu Dhabi. From
8.00 A.M. to 12.00 P.M, the areas in
Al Wathba Reserve, Abu Dhabi, was
cleaned of waste and residues. That is
why AADC aims through compliance
with such societal initiatives to preserve
environment and to protect it in all
possible means and ways.
It is worth noting that the participants
were equipped with all necessary tools
to guarantee an effective clean-up
process, including gloves, garbage
bags, drinking water. They were also
providedwithnecessary informationand
the rules and conditions of participation
in the campaign, besides a lengthy
illustration of how to document data
about collected waste.
