participates in
the activities
of the Youth
Philanthropy
Summit 2014
AADC participated in the events
of the second annual Youth
Philanthropy Summit 2014, under
the patronage of H.E. Sheikh
Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan,
Minister of Foreign Affairs and
Chairman of the Board of Directors
of the Emirates Foundation for
Youth Development. The summit
was held by Emirates Foundation
in Ritz Hotel - Carlton, Abu Dhabi,
under the motto “Philanthropy 2020:
Improving Impact, Effectiveness and
Collaboration”. It aimed at securing a
strategic platform that gathers major
institutions pioneering in the field,
as well as experts and specialist on
regional and international levels, to
discuss the ways of elevating public
philanthropy sector and observing
optimum international practices
relating to establishment of social
investment projects.
AADC engineers participated in a
panel dicussion accompanying the
summit, in which they addressed the
importance of rationalizing energy
consumption. They also broached
the means to rationalize water and
electricity consumption in daily life,
as in bathing and cleaning. Besides,
they illustrated themeans tomaintain
rationalization and secure a safe and
optimum environment for the use of
appliances in an economical manner
that save water and electricity. It
also involved distribution of a group
of booklets and brochures that
encourage rationalization of water
and electricity consumption, explain
the conception of rationalization,
introduce the optimum means to
use energy, and advocate change
of some incorrect daily behaviors
relating to the use of energy. This
was meant to entrench the optimum
ways to use energy. The process was
coupled with engineers’ illustration
of AADC ways of distributing water
and electricity in Al Ain City.
The summit also included 21 panel
and interactive discussions there
were held in participation with
more than 60 experts and keynote
speakers from all over the world,
representing 50 local, regional
and international institutions. The
sessions were managed by experts
in the different fields relating to
social welfare work.
AADC
participates in
Dar Al Turath
Forum
H.E. Sheikh Said Bin Tahnun Al
Nahyan visited the pavilion of Al
Ain Distribution Company (AADC),
though which it participated in
the activities of Al Dar Al Turathi
(Heritage House) Forum, organized
by Al Dar Private School under the
motto, “Al Multaqa Al Watani Al
Turathi (National Heritage Forum), in
Souq Al Qattara (Qattara Market), Al
Ain.
H.E. Sheikh Said acquainted
with
the
awareness-raising
materials, informative booklets
on rationalization, through which
the company aims to enlighten
the community on issues of
rationalization and optimum use
of energy. AADC participation in
the Forum through its pavilion was
meant to introduce the company
and the activities it carries out, as
well as the efforts it exerts for the
sake of providing the best services
of distributing water and electricity
in a safe, efficient, environmentally-
friendly and cost-effective manner.
The Forum also witnessed the
participation of several government
institutions and circles and a number
of Arab communities that presented
representative materials. Besides, Al
Dar School students participated in
the events through heritage-related
segments and folkloric dances,
while Abu Dhabi Police presented
live performances for sniffer dogs,
which represented a source of joy
for the visitors of Souq Al Qattara.
Sheikh Said Bin Tahnun Al Nahyan
honored AADC and other institutions
in the Forum due to their effective
participation in bringing about the
success of Al Multaqa Al Turathi.
