AADC sponsored the eighth forum
of UAEU Female Activities Day
conducted by UAEU Engineering
College in Al Ain city. This is meant
to inform female students about the
major disciplines required for labor
market, to provide benefit for them
and broaden their knowledge in
engineering fields.
Through its participation in the eighth
forum activities, AADC is keen to
enforce channels of communication
with the local community and
positive interaction with public and
private institutions and agencies.
It also aims to raise the rate of
nationalization in the company’s
engineering and technical positions
through informing and enlightening
female students about jobs required
for the labor market.
AADC participation included an
introductory presentation through
which the nature of its work in
extending water and electricity
supply to subscribers is illustrated
and the students’ questions and
inquiries raised during the event
were answered.
In the conclusion of the events,
engineer Fatima Al Zahiri, Director
General of Electricity Department,
was honored on behalf of General
Manager, Mohamed Bin Omair Al
Shamsi, for the company’s golden
sponsoring of the eighth forum of
Activities Days.
AADC participated in the ‘Physics
Day’ events organized by Al Jahili
High School, under the slogan
‘Electricity in our life’. AADC
participation aimed at informing
female students about the hazards
of electricity and enlightening them
about the means to rationalize
consumption. So, an awareness
raising lecture was delivered to the
students, during which engineer
Yusuf Al Balushi illustrated the ways
to rationalize electricity consumption
at home and secure a safe and ideal
environment for the use of electrical
devices in an economic and energy-
saving manner. He also explained
the means to avoid electricity
hazards.
The students acquainted with the
informative corner on rationalization,
through which the company aims
to enlighten community members
about issues of rationalization and
optimum use of energy. There, the
students acquainted with a group
of energy-saving lamps and other
ordinary lamps, both connected
to an electrical meter that shows
the difference between both types
of lamps in terms of the amount
of power consumed as well as in
cost calculations. They were also
informed through this corner about
the differences between old meters
and other new automatic meters,
and the way to operate, disconnect
and remotely read the latter.
