An Educational Seminar in
Al Jahar Council
Al Ain Distribution Company organized an educational seminar in the Board of HE Mr. Saif Al - Afari in Al
Jahar, Al Ain, entitled
“Together to Preserve our Natural Resources”
on Wednesday, March 21st. This
educational seminar aims at raising the culture of rationalization and emphasizing the importance
of preserving natural and national resources, this is in line with the efforts exerted by the Energy
Department and its companies in the awareness of rationalization of electricity consumption,
which targets government bodies, institutions and councils in various social groups.
HE Mr. Al Motared Bin Saif Al - Afari welcomed Eng. Badr Al-Dhahli, Operation Executive
Officer of Al Ain Distribution Company and the participant engineers; Eng. Motahar Ali En. Faleh
Al-Shamsi and Eng. Mohammed SalemAl Mazroui Eng. Masfir Al-Aryani and guests of the Council,
and stressed that this meeting stems from the interrelationships between government bodies
and institutions with the community.
Eng. Badr Al-Dhahli reviewed an introductory video about Al Ain Distribution Company explaining the identity
of the Company and the services it provides to the Customers at all levels. He pointed out that the public
must be educated through rationalization of energy consumption, taking household measures and adopting
best practices through introducing workshops on rationalization to educate the community of individuals,
families, institutions and companies of the need to preserve energy and methods of its optimal use in addition
to presenting methods and ways that contribute to the rationalization of electricity consumption, such as the
purchase of energy-saving lamps and using them instead of traditional lamps, the importance of reliance on
natural lighting methods during the daytime, and not leaving unused rooms lit, switching off the electrical
devices when not needed and ways to rationalize the consumption of water in daily life, such as bathing, washing
and cleaning and highlighting the security and safety of electricity risks, in order to preserve the right of future
generations to access natural resources of water and energy.
For his part, Eng. Faleh Al Shamsi, Director of Electrical Maintenance Department, said: “Al Ain Distribution
Company has launched the application of smart phones and smart devices under the slogan” Smart Services
towards Smart Future “. The application includes an important feature that allows the customer to read the
monthly invoice data and enter the credit card data once the smart phone is photographed, the customer can
avoid the mistakes and have a payment. The application also offers a range of unique services including the
creation of a personal account for the beneficiaries, providing electronic payment service for payment of invoices
and reviewing their details, and feature of alerts and reminders that allow the customer to automatically check
the monthly payment dates and determine the nearest point to pay the monthly bills.
Such a initiative is distinct comes within the framework of Al Ain Distribution Company’s pursuit to improve
customer service and enable the completion of transactions in the best and easiest way, in accordance with the
strategy of facilitating the tasks of auditors and provide the best services for them”.
This lecture comes within a series of rationalization of consumption campaigns directed by the Company to
the individuals of the community to enhance security and safety in addition to awareness of ways to
rationalize the consumption of electricity and water. At the end of the seminar, rationalization
tools were reviewed that contribute to reducing the consumption of electricity and water
in addition to the distribution of a set of brochures urging to rationalize the consumption of
water and electricity and explain to them the concept of rationalization and the best ways to
use energy and encourages them to change some of their daily behaviours in terms of how
to optimize the use of energy.
