My Journey to the Summit for
Employees of Al Ain Distribution
The Happiness Team at Al Ain Distribution Company of the Department of
Energy organized a lecture to stimulate the skills and self development of
the employees entitled “My Journey to the Summit” by Dr. Abdullah Al-
Darmaki, winner of the UAE National Award and a doctor in institutional
excellence, the Doctor spoke about his success story with his colleagues
in raising the motto of Zayed on the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro and
the difficulties he faced in reaching the summit. He also explained the
concept of summit in setting goals and what the summit represents for
each person.
In the lecture, the lecturer tackled several axes, including: the non-comparison of self to others, positive
self-talk, lack of attention to negative and frustrating words of others, and the definition of the summit
and its concept. He also spoke about the vision for life and the necessity of choosing friends and the
ambiance, how they affect the life of each of us, and that the positive energy is a key factor in facilitating
tasks in the work environment, which ensures smooth implementation, and the minimum amount of
time, effort and money, it is key to excellence.
This lecture is part of a series of programs and events organized by the Happiness Team of employees to raise
the motto of happiness in the work environment and the Happiness Team aims to organize many events and
initiatives that promote the concept of happiness as a style of life and work
