How

for Employees
Al Ain Distribution’s employees attended a training workshop on “Cardiac resuscitation” using hands
only organized by the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Center in the Outpatient Care Services, one
of the facilities of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), in conjunction with the American
Heart Association Global Campaign. The campaign aims to educate the community about how to save
a person’s life when he has a sudden cardiac arrest. Because in case of cardiac arrest, the survival rate
depends on how quickly the CPR is performed. A quick action can save lives.
The training workshop included an educational lecture on the importance of recognizing the basic steps in
cardiopulmonary resuscitation and taking into account the age group in how to recover. Al Ain staff were
also trained on CPR procedures using hands only with practical application and distribution of educational
leaflets and answers to the FAQs about CPR such as: What is cardiac arrest and what happens during
the stop and procedures followed and why the American Heart Association advises that all segments of
community should be educated about CPR using hands only and what are its benefits.
Health, Safety and Environment Department in Al Ain Distribution Company in cooperation with New Medical
Centre Speciality Hospital Al Ain organized a training course in first aid attended by “100 employees” from
different departments and sections of the Company within the framework of the Company’s plan to raise the
efficiency of employees and implement the best safety and security standards in performance stipulated in the
Company’s general policies at its various branches.
The Centre’s doctors presented a detailed explanation and practical application of first aid skills and how to deal
with emergency cases, in accordance with the rules set forth by the law and the medical and health requirements
followed in such urgent cases.
In addition, the meaning of first aid was explained and how it is important in saving a lot of people and how
to act properly and immediately in the event of various accidents in the work environment, such as choking,
fainting, and epistaxis, minor burns and fractures and also defined the employees in how to perform CPR when
necessary.
It is to be noted that these training courses continue on a regular basis throughout the year at Al Ain Distribution
Company to ensure that all employees in Al Ain Company are aware of the safety and security procedures in
the sites in accordance with the standards of excellence and quality applied in the Company for applying the
Company’s goal of educating employees and informing them of the most important ways and means to be
taken in cases accidents and procedures to be followed to save the injured.
The Company will organize a training program during the next week, entitled “Management with Safety”
for managers of departments and sections that will be presented by a certified trainer from the Institute of
Occupational Safety and Health
(IOSH) from the United Kingdom.
Al Ain Distribution within the phase III of the contract No. A-14050 of project of improving and redeveloping
the system of health, safety and environment and the documentation related to the system, where the project
is centred in 6 stages with a contract value of 1.650000 AED.
Eng. Abdulhadi Al Hajri, Director of Health, Safety and Environment Section at Al Ain Distribution Company said
that the Company has completed the first and second phases, which lasted 41 weeks, at the beginning of 2017,
including holding brainstorming sessions to assess and analyse the gaps in the HSE system and assess its risks
within the requirements of the OSHAD Center (Abu Dhabi Health, Safety and Environment Center), which urges
institutions to use risk analysis in all activities, either routine or non-routine and the manner of controlling these
risks.
He also added that Lloyd’s Register for Consultation has held training sessions for engineers, technicians and
stakeholders to assess operational risks, modify, improve and develop items in the safety rules of the (SSR)
system and documenting them in accordance with the best procedures, and developing the training materials
that help in how to apply safety rules the safety leaders that these sessions and workshops continue for 21 weeks
to ensure that the procedures are connected with critical risks for activities related to water and electricity.
