An Awareness Seminar
in Al Khabisi Council
Al Ain Distribution Company organized an awareness seminar entitled
“Together to Conserve our Natural
Resources”
in the Council of His Excellency Mofleh Ayed Al Ahbabi, in the presence of a group of sons of the tribe
of Al Ahbabi , the people of the Khabisi area in the city of Al Ain and a number of the Company’s engineers. The
seminar aims to enhance culture of rationalization, to achieve sustainability and encourage the Community to
change consumption habits, and to urge for compliance with the requirements of security and safety in homes.
Eng. Badr Nasser Al-Dhahli, Operation Executive Officer of Al Ain Distribution Company, gave a detailed
explanation of the Company, including the services provided by the Company to the customers from production
and delivery to distribution of quantities to consumers.
He explained the great role played by the strategic partners through monitoring the work flowof the Company to
ensure the provision of services to the duly, where the company performs tasks of distribution and sale of water
and electricity to more than 700 thousand consumers in the region and its environs, along with development,
maintenance and operation of an integrated network of 26,227 km of power lines, 4,791 km of water lines and
more than 645 thousand service points.
Al-Dhahli explained the ways to rationalize the consumption of electricity, which achieve great benefits whether
economic or community benefits based on statistics on increase of the proportion of electricity consumption in
the Summer more thanWinter, explaining methods to contribute to the rational consumption of electricity, such
as the purchase of saving energy lamps and and use of electricity instead of traditional lamps, the importance
of relying on natural lighting methods during the daytime, not leaving the unused rooms lit, and switching off
electrical appliances when not needed.
For his part, Eng. Faleh Al Shamsi, Director of Electrical Maintenance Department, highlighted the Smart Home
Initiative, which aims to raise the level of awareness and culture among all sectors of community about the
benefits of environmentally friendly lifestyles and introduce them to ways of rationalization of water and
electricity consumption, which aim at ensuring optimal use of resources.
Eng. Motahar Abdullah, Director of Operations and Maintenance Department, stressed the critical and crucial
importance of installing modern water systems in buildings, facilities and residential units. This will contribute
to reducing the rate of waste and leakage in the internal networks, in addition to the importance of using
rationalizer and modern irrigation methods in green spaces.
It is worth mentioning that Al Ain Distribution Company is keen on contributing to the promotion of culture of
rationalization to raise the awareness of the public through the provision of free consulting and field visits to
allow consumers to assess the rates and mechanisms of consumption of water and electricity, which helps them
to improve their consumption efficiency and save their expenses.
The seminar included a special exhibition to introduce electricity and water rationalization tools, as well as
distribution of rationalization publications explaining how to optimally use these tools, which reduces cost of
bills to consumers. The exhibition also witnessed the interaction of the attendees and the exchange of questions
and purposeful discussions.
