Who isMahaAl Dahmi?
I amMaha Ismail Al Dahmi and I Born
in Al Ain city. I got a BA in Electrical
Engineering from the United Arab
Emirates University (UAEU), in 2010.
Then, in 2013, I earned an MA in
Business Management from Abu
Dhabi University. Besides, I was
among the 20 male and female
studentsonascholarshiptoGermany
(Dresden) to study Semiconductors
with the Elite Program that lasted for
two months, successfully graduating
in 2010. In 2012, I was accepted
among the one-year Young Future
Energy Leaders Program (YFEL)
of Masdar Institute of Science and
Technology. The program involved a
groupof special courseson theuseof
cleanenergyand its importance in the
present era. Among the requirements
for completing the program was to
submitareportcontainingprospective
suggestions for Abu Dhabi Emirate
on the use of clean energy, and the
report I submitted won the second
rank. I then successfully completed
the program in 2013, knowing that I
had joinedAADC in2010as a studies
engineer.
WithAADC…
On September 2010 ,26, I was
appointed in AADC to work in the
Networks Administration, an offshoot
of Electricity Department.
What was your view of AADC
before your appointment?
OfcourseIwasaffiliatedwithAADCbefore
my appointment, knowing that my four-
months college practical training was in
it. During this period, I managed to work
with all Departments of the company and
acquaint with its role. Besides, I won the
first rank in my practical training, in both
College of Engineering male and female
branches. Therefore, my appointment in
AADC crowned a pleasurable memory
when my aspiration was to joint it.

Thenatureofmyworkas‘studiesengineer’
crystallizes in preserving the quality of
energy and the security of electrical
networks by way of conducting studies,
analyses and constant assessments
network loads and redistribution of them
inaccordancewithapprovedcriteria in the
field of power distribution networks.
Eventsandactivities…
I participated in several AADC internal
activities, within Electricity Department,
andexternal activitiesat thecompany level
as a whole, since I was a coordinator of
networksmanagementforSheikhKhalifa’s
Award of Excellence, knowing that the
company ranked in the gold category of
the award. Besides, I amamember in the
ideas proposal program through which
AADC proposed for the Committed to
Excellencecertificate, alongwith twoother
projects, and thanks to Allah we got the
certificate.
Researches and knowledge
disciplines...
As an engineer, I have diverse scientific
and research interests, knowing that
my interest concentrates in the field of
networks management and operation,
besides engineering management and
planning. My UAEU graduation project
wasondesigningacontrol andmonitoring
system to conserve energy in smart
houses, knowing that the word ‘smart’
refers to the houses where advanced
technological services are available. The
systemfocusesparticularlyon lightingand
air conditioning system since they highly
energy consuming compared to other
domestic electrical devices.

I representedAADC in the IETConference
on Developments in Power System
Protection (DPSP-IET Conference), in
Denmark, to present a technical paper
titled, “An analysis of earthing system to
enhance protection system performance
indistributionnetworks”.Ialsorepresented
the company in the eighth forumof UAEU
Female Activities Day conducted by
Electrical Engineering Department.
