In concurrence with the decision of banning work at noontime,
SHESQD organizing an awareness raising course on
heat stress, in three different languages
AADC Safety, Health, Environment,
Security, and Quality Department
organized an awareness raising
course on heat stress, in three
different languages; Arabic, English
and Urdu. The course involved
the participation of all AADC staff,
technicians and also workers in the
company’s subordinate external
sites. The course aimed at raising
the level of awareness among the
participants regarding diseases
resulting from heat stress and the
means to avoid it and to deal with
its consequent complications.
In this sense, AADC keenly
implements the Ministry of Labour’s
decision of banning work at
noontime at all open sites during
the summer season, starting from
12.00 PM and until 3.00 PM, the
decision which is in force for the
eighth consecutive year.
The course focused on raising
awareness about the health threats
directly related to work in high
temperature, and the steps that
should be taken to reduce such
threats.
Indeed, AADC is careful to enlighten
its staff through providing such
training programs due to its positive
impact in reducing the threats of
heat stress and its consequent
effects.
The company also provided a
number of protective equipment
that contributes to reduction of
exposure to heat stress for all
laborers and contractors working
in the various open areas projects.
The equipment included first aid kit
and head and neck covers. It also
increased the number of cold water
supply sites.
