Organizes Events of
UAE InnovationWeek
Al Ain Distribution Company organized the Innovation Exhibition and a workshop on corporate innovation
concepts as part of the «UAE Innovation Week» events, which raises this year the motto “Innovation Begins
With You”, one of the largest innovation initiatives in the World by the UAE reinforcing the UAE’s position as a
global center for innovation. This initiative comes within the UAE’s approach to spread the culture of innovation,
in promotion of the efforts exerted to upgrade the work system and the initiatives which aim at improving
the quality of government systems and services, in line with the national innovation strategy launched by His
Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Mr. Abdullah Al-Shuraiani, Acting General Manager of Al Ain Distribution Company, and the directors of the
departments and sections took a tour around the exhibition of innovative projects of the Company’s engineers,
which included eight projects on water and electricity (the control device with the solar cells direction and
cleaning them project), (direct installation of cable generators (and) stations control via remote control project
and project of transforming waves of Wifi into electricity) and (project of the direct number of Electricity
Department Control Center) and ( station equipment signal tracking program ) and ( project of the data cable
inspection device) awareness campaign on disposal of household medical waste).
Mr. Abdullah Al-Shuraani declared that this exhibition comes within Company’s keenness
to keep pace with the urban development that the country is undergoing, which reflects
its development and looking ahead for the future in line with the government’s vision of
adopting global opportunities in this field and enhancing its position as a leading global
destination for the sustainable future and devoting the vision of good leadership and its
trends in the use of smart technologies to serve the community.
Al-Shuraani added that UAE Innovation Month is a national event that reflects the
interest of the UAE in scientific research, innovation and the support of talented individuals and
inventors by introducing smart projects for individuals and institutions and transforming them
into investment projects to serve the community and develop the country, in line with the future
vision that strengthens the Country’s position in the field of innovation in the World.
Dr. Mahmoud Al-Hader, who was awarded the Order of the Innovative Employee, in the Abu
Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance organized a workshop entitled
“Corporate Innovation Concepts”, in which he reviewed his success story and his award of the
Order of Excellence. While he explained the concepts of creativity and innovation in addition to
methods of improvement and the difference between them to encourage employees to innovate
and create in their performance and not to subject to the inhibitors of innovation.
Dr. Mahmoud also highlighted the most important areas of corporate innovation with showing
the specificity of innovation in the development of materials and technologies with improved
specifications of better operational and environmental efficiency and lower consumption of
resources.
